Pssst! Instruments – Preparist: Piano Percussion (Kontakt, WAV) Review:
Pssst! Instruments – Preparist: Piano Percussion is a creative sound library that transforms the piano into a percussive instrument. It is designed for composers, producers, and sound designers who want unique rhythmic textures and organic hits. Available in both Kontakt and WAV formats, this library offers flexibility for different workflows, making it suitable for cinematic music, experimental tracks, and modern sound design.
Pssst! Instruments – Preparist: Piano Percussion takes a different approach to sound creation by focusing on the percussive side of the piano. Instead of traditional notes and melodies, it captures hits, taps, and rhythmic sounds created using the piano body and strings. One of the main strengths of this library is its organic sound character. The recordings feel natural and raw, giving your music a more human and expressive touch. This makes it ideal for cinematic scoring and atmospheric compositions.
The library includes a variety of percussive hits, textures, and rhythmic patterns. These sounds can be used to build grooves, add subtle rhythm, or create complex sound layers. The Kontakt version allows users to shape and customize sounds with additional controls, while the WAV version offers quick access for drag-and-drop use in any DAW. Another highlight is the sound quality. The samples are clean, detailed, and professionally recorded, ensuring they fit well in modern productions.
The workflow is simple and easy to follow. Users can quickly explore sounds and start creating without needing advanced technical skills. This library works well in film scoring, ambient music, and experimental projects. It adds rhythm and texture without relying on traditional drum kits. However, it is not a replacement for standard percussion libraries. It is more focused on creative and unconventional sounds. Overall, Preparist is a unique and inspiring tool for adding organic percussion elements to your music.
