Black Salt Audio Telos Vocals Review:
Black Salt Audio Telos Vocals is an all-in-one vocal processing plugin designed to simplify the vocal mixing process while still delivering polished, professional results. Developed by Black Salt Audio
, the plugin combines EQ, compression, saturation, de-essing, limiting, and tone shaping into a single streamlined interface. Instead of building large vocal chains with multiple plugins, Telos Vocals focuses on helping users achieve radio-ready vocals quickly and efficiently. One of the biggest strengths of Telos Vocals is its workflow. The plugin is designed to remove unnecessary complexity and keep users focused on creativity rather than technical settings.
Controls are simplified and musical, allowing producers to shape vocals by ear instead of getting distracted by detailed numbers and complicated parameters. This makes the plugin approachable for beginners while still useful for experienced engineers who want faster results. The sound quality is another major highlight. Telos Vocals delivers clean, modern vocal tones with strong clarity and presence. The built-in EQ section helps remove muddiness, tame boxy frequencies, and add brightness without sounding harsh. At the same time, the dual-stage compression system keeps vocals controlled and consistent while maintaining energy and natural dynamics.
This combination makes vocals sit more effectively in a mix, whether you are producing pop, rock, hip-hop, or metal tracks. A particularly useful feature is the plugin’s saturation section, which offers different tonal modes for shaping vocal character. Users can add subtle warmth, fuller body, or more aggressive edge depending on the style of the song. Combined with the built-in de-esser and limiter, the plugin covers nearly every essential part of vocal processing in one place. This significantly reduces the need for long plugin chains and speeds up the mixing process.
Telos Vocals is also versatile enough to handle multiple vocal types. It works well on lead vocals, harmonies, doubles, screams, and softer performances across many genres. The plugin adapts easily to different styles, making it a flexible tool for producers who work on varied projects. The interface itself is clean and intuitive, with a layout that encourages quick experimentation. Instead of overwhelming users with advanced technical options, the plugin focuses on delivering practical controls that produce noticeable improvements fast.
Many users appreciate this streamlined approach, especially when working under tight deadlines or during creative sessions. Community discussions also highlight that while professionals may still prefer custom vocal chains for maximum flexibility, Telos Vocals is highly effective for fast workflows and polished results. Overall, Black Salt Audio Telos Vocals stands out as a modern and efficient vocal mixing solution. It successfully combines simplicity, speed, and strong sound quality into one plugin, making it an excellent option for producers who want professional vocal results without unnecessary complexity.
